ATP Launches ACES Docuseries, Bundling Streaming Content With Premium Hospitality
Only 29 men in tennis history have reached ATP World No. 1. The ATP is finally telling their story.
ACES: The ATP No. 1 Club, a four-part docuseries that premiered June 29 on Prime Video (US) and Channel 5 (UK), brings together exclusive interviews and archive footage spanning McEnroe, Borg, and Connors through Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic to current stars Alcaraz and Sinner. Emmy-winning director Pat Dimon constructed the series around the mental and physical demands of reaching and maintaining the sport's most exclusive ranking, with rolling international distribution across Bell Media (Canada), SkyShowtime (Europe), JioHotstar (India), and Now TV (Hong Kong and Macau) in the coming months.
The series anchors a broader ATP No. 1 Club ecosystem launched in 2024. Alongside the docuseries, the ATP partnered with publisher Phaidon on ATP No. 1 Club: Icons of Men's Tennis, an archival and storytelling book profiling all 29 World No. 1s launching later this year. The ATP also expanded into premium experiential hospitality through ATP Experiences, now available at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin where guests access exclusive moments including meetings with former World No. 1 players.
The bundling strategy reflects how tours are monetizing player narratives beyond broadcast rights. By layering content (docuseries), publishing (books), and hospitality (VIP experiences), the ATP is building multiple revenue streams around a single narrative asset. It also signals a broader shift in how professional tennis markets itself to global audiences, moving beyond match coverage into character-driven storytelling that appeals to mainstream entertainment platforms and their audiences.
