Singapore Welcomes WTA with Turkish Airlines as Official Partner
Singapore is finally back on the WTA calendar for 2025! After nearly seven years since hosting the year-end WTA Tour finals in 2018, the tour has decided it's time to return to one of the most bustling cities in the world.
To welcome this year's inaugural Singapore Tennis Open, Turkish Airlines has been announced as the official airline partner for the event, taking place from January 27 to February 2 at the Kallang Tennis Hub. The airline is no stranger to throwing its name behind major tennis events, having been the title sponsor for the Antalya Open (Turkish Airlines Open) during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, an annual WTA Tour event in Stuttgart, Germany, has seen the airline sponsor the event since 2015, underscoring its commitment to the women's game.
As part of the airline's new deal in Singapore, it will provide players with premium travel accommodations and some incredible prizes for players and fans. This year's women's singles champion will leave the Lion City with a pair of round-trip business class tickets to any destination worldwide. Fans in attendance are not being left out either, with Turkish Airlines giving two lucky fans on the last day of the tournament round-trip tickets to either Melbourne or Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines Vice President of Asia & Far East spoke on the deal: "This collaboration celebrates a shared passion for connecting people and places, just as tennis connects fans and players around the globe. We're glad to be part of this world-class event, offering memorable experiences to both fans and the tennis community."
The event is currently underway, with 32 players competing in the singles draw and 16 teams in the doubles, contending for a prize pool of $275,094 USD (SGD 371,128).
