A Rolex at 17 years of age!

I remember being that age, working as a pool boy at a resort in Australia. The running joke among the team was that if something shiny was at the bottom of the pool, dive in—it might be a Rolex! This was a five-star resort nestled in the Great Barrier Reef, but in reality, I was usually retrieving nothing more than a hairpin.

That, however, is not the case for Russian teen sensation Mirra Andreeva, who has taken the WTA Tour by storm since making her debut in Madrid in 2023.

Currently ranked No. 15 in the world, with a bright future ahead, it’s no surprise that sponsors are lining up for her endorsement. Andreeva has already secured deals with Nike and Wilson for her on-court gear, as well as Spanish dermatology brand ISDIN as her skincare partner. Her confidence has only grown since her debut, with a Roland Garros semifinal appearance in 2024, a spot in the top 20, and her maiden WTA title in Iași, Romania.

Rolex is no stranger to recognizing young talent and remains one of professional tennis’s most prestigious sponsors. The luxury watchmaker famously signed Swiss maestro Roger Federer and has long-standing deals with Grand Slam champions like Iga Świątek and Dominic Thiem. More recently, Rolex added Carlos Alcaraz and 2025 Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner to its roster.

At the start of 2025, Rolex welcomed Mirra Andreeva to its elite group of ambassadors, gifting her one of its iconic timepieces. In an Instagram post—seemingly from the Rolex boutique in Melbourne—Andreeva shared her excitement: “Can’t wait for this journey together.”

Given her trajectory, she’ll likely add many more Rolex watches to her collection in the years to come. As for me? I’ll keep hoping to find one at the bottom of a pool.
